Today is the Mahayana Buddhist new year. It is celebrated on the full moon of January each year, this year being January 25. We recognize the Buddha’s enlightenment.

“The Buddhist New Year is also a time for internalizing and self-reflection. Lessons from past mistakes are learned, and the goal is to become a better version of yourself. Good luck is also enhanced by cleaning and decorating homes and by buying gifts for others. The celebration is not a dull one, with grand feasts hosted and fireworks at midnight” — National Today

Today I will be celebrating and recognizing by meditating on my past and present. As well as practicing my crustal practices by cleansing and charging under the moonlight.

I hope you find ways to recognize and honor yourself this year.
